Arts Council in Marshall, NC, Features Works by Connie Toops
The Madison County Arts Council in Marshall, NC, will present the exhibit, Seeing Through The Eye of a Hummingbird, featuring works by nature photographer Connie Toops, on view in the Mezzanine Gallery at the Madison County Arts Center, from Oct. 9 - 31, 2009.
The show includes thirty-two images that immerse viewers deep into the blossoms hummingbirds love. These ultra close-up photos, some of which also depict flowing motion, are so highly magnified that floral details create mysterious, whimsical images. Bold colors and unique patterns provide additional intrigue.
Toops won a 2009 Regional Artist Project Grant, awarded by the Asheville Area Arts Council and The North Carolina Arts Council, for this work.
