The Arts Center of Greenwood in Greenwood, SC, Offers Works by Lander University Visual Art Faculty
The Arts Center of Greenwood in Greenwood, SC, will present Independent Study, featuring works by members of the Lander University Visual Art Faculty, on view from Oct. 1 - 31, 2013. A reception will be held on Oct. 17, from 5-6:30pm with a live drawing performance by Dr. Tom Pitts and Doug McAbee. The reception will be held in conjunction with Oktoberfest, an outdoor music and food festival in uptown Greenwood.
The exhibit will include creative work by Dr. Susan Deaton, Jon Holloway, Doug McAbee, Dr. Tom Pitts, Sandy Singletary, Jim Slagle, Elizabeth Snipes-Rochester and Fathima Nazim-Starnes.
This exhibit will represent the interesting and diverse group of artists and will include painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, installation work and sculpture. Though the creative work is varied and stretches across the spectrum of visual art, the exhibit comes together as a whole much like the cohesive department created by the faculty at Lander. Independent Study will showcase the work of this award winning group of artists and will provide a glimpse into what they do in the time they are not teaching students.
