Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island, SC, Offers Works by Daniel McLaughlin
The Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island,
SC, will present the exhibition, The Calm - Pawleys Before Hugo,
featuring 15 oil paintings by Daniel McLaughlin, of Pawleys Island.
The exhibition will open on Nov. 29 and will be on view through
Dec. 19, 2003.
McLaughlin, who grew up in Georgetown County, SC, and studied
art under William Halsey at the College of Charleston is well
known in the area. His atmospheric landscape paintings are rendered
from the artist's years of memories and experiences of growing
up visiting Pawleys Island. Among the fifteen paintings, viewers
will find Pawleys "the way it was" before the big storm
of 1989.
