RedSky Gallery
in Charlotte, NC, Offers Works by Andy Braitman
RedSky Gallery in Dilworth,
Charlotte, NC, will present American Landscape Paintings: Andy
Braitman, an exhibit of oil paintings on view from Nov. 13
through Dec. 31, 2009.
In his latest exhibit, Andy Braitman introduces an exciting new
technique best described as aggressive impressionism. Braitman
strives to allow his vision of the subject to determine how he
paints. He uses paint, brushstroke and light to interpret the
way he sees the fields, streams and trees in his landscapes. This
vision dictates how much paint he uses and how much control he
imposes on his brushstrokes.
Braitman's work has been featured in galleries and in one-man
and group shows in Santa Fe, Chicago, Atlanta, Millburn, NJ, Washington,
DC, Noorbeek, Holland, and Rio de Janiero and Curitba, Brazil.
He was chosen by Nancy Reagan as one of America's Leading Artists,
along with other notable artists such as Frank Stella and Andrew
Wyeth, and asked to contribute a decorated Easter egg to the White
House. The egg is now on display in the Smithsonian Institute.
Braitman was selected to participate in the prestigious Maryland
Biennial Juried Exhibition at the Charles Museum of Art in
Baltimore. He has also been an Artist in Residence for Prince
Georges County, Maryland and for Edgecombe and Mitchell Counties
in North Carolina. In those roles he has been guest lecturer at
area colleges, conducted workshops, judged art competitions, and
participated in public art projects.
RedSky Gallery features original works on paper and canvas, sculpture,
ceramic, glass, studio furniture, art-to-wear, jewelry, and more.
Over 500 regional and national artists are represented at three
gallery locations in Dilworth, Blakeney Town Centre in South Charlotte
and the EpiCentre in Uptown.
