Charleston County
Public Library in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Timothy Pakron
The Charleston County Public Library in Charleston, SC, will present an exhibit of works by photographer Timothy Pakron, on view in the Saul Alexander Foundation Gallery Jan. 1 - 31, 2009.
Pakron will be exhibiting a series of his abstract portraits.
Pakron offers the following statement about his work. "I am fascinated with the exploration of the human face and figure. I like abstracting portraits to where they are unrecognizable at first and are revealed after a closer look. By using natural elements as my paint and the face as the canvas, unique portraits are created. With some of my newer works, I use the negatives as a template and hand paint the developer on in the darkroom, revealing only a part of the image. My goal in creating is to engage the viewer by intriguing them and making them think."
