The Dialect
Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Offers Works by Osiris Rain & Joshua
Gage
The Dialect Gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibit, American Dream, featuring works by Osiris Rain, and Joshua Gage, on view from Jan. 1 through Feb. 5, 2010.
In this exhibit Gage and Rain seek to expose the contradictions and ironies inherent to the nature of our contemporary society. By looking past the day-to-day surface beauty of our lives that we take for granted, and offering a new perspective on the ideas and aspirations commonly known as "the American Dream".
Gage is inspired to transform the common things that define our existence into uncommonly beautiful images. Through his mastery of trompe l' oeil, he captures the beauty that the tolls of life take on an object or person.
Rain's works are heavily influenced by his avid love for sociology and travel. His work gracefully blends his classical training with sensitivity towards contemporary life.
