Vista Studios/Gallery 80808 in Columbia,
SC, Offers 20th Anniversary Exhibition
Vista Studios, located in Columbia, SC's Vista area is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a special 20th Anniversary Show which will be on display from Nov. 16-30, 2010. The show will open on Nov. 18 in connection with this year's Vista Lights celebration. At Vista Studios, more than 30 artists will be exhibiting paintings, drawings, mixed media, and sculpture in Gallery 80808.
Vista Studios opened in August 1990 as an early project in revitalization efforts of the Congaree Vista. Vista Studios began as a joint venture of the Columbia Development Corporation and the South Carolina Arts Commission. It has matured along with the Vista into a unique and needed outlet for Columbia's visual arts. Over the past 20 years, Vista Studios has been home to 51 artists, and this year all artists - past and present - have been invited to participate in the 20th Anniversary Show. Come see the exhibition and visit with the artists. Current residents will open their studios and be available to discuss their processes. Two artists that were part of the original group, Heidi Darr-Hope and Robert Kennedy, continue to reside at Vista Studios.

Vista Studios provides studio space to 13 artists and gallery
space to community artists. Situated in the heart of the Vista
at 808 Lady Street, Gallery 80808 is utilized for shows not only
by the artists of Vista Studios, but is available for rent to
other artists as a high quality location for local, regional,
or national art shows. With new shows coming in regularly, Gallery
80808 presents up to 25 different exhibitions a year.
