The Wells Gallery in Charleston, SC, Offers Group Exhibition
The Wells Gallery in Charleston, SC, will present, Metaphoric, a group exhibit using words to inspire new works, on view from Nov. 4 - 26, 2011. A reception will be held on Nov. 4, from 5:30-8:30pm in conjunction with the Charleston Fine Art Dealers’ Association’s Fine Art Annual Weekend.
A metaphor is a literary figure of speech that uses an image, story or tangible thing to represent a less tangible thing. We asked our artist to create that image or tangible element to express those words that spark an idea.
Participating artists include: Karen Larson Turner, Russell Gordon, George Pate, Sue Stewart, Sally Tharp, Kim English, Anne Bradford, Maryanne Mitchell, Junko Ono Rothwell, Curt Butler, Sheryl Stalnaker, Mark Bailey, Laurie Meyer, John Michiels and a few others.
Located at 125 Meeting St. next to the Gibbes Museum of Art in historic downtown Charleston, collectors can feel confident they will find both integrity and expertise at the Wells Gallery, where quality and value are paramount and a wide array of significant art is offered. Works including paintings, bronze sculptures and hand-blown glass are offered from national, international and emerging artists. An additional gallery is located in The Sanctuary Hotel at Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
