Anglin Smith Fine Art in Charleston, SC, Features Works Focused on Water

Anglin Smith Fine Art in Charleston, SC, will present Surrounded by Water, featuring works by gallery artists, on view from Nov. 1 - 15, 2013. A reception will be held on Nov. 1, from 5:30-8:30pm, as part of the Charleston Fine Art Dealers’ Association’s 15th Charleston Fine Art Annual weekend, which takes place on Nov. 1 & 2, 2013.

Here in the Lowcountry everywhere you look there is water or signs thereof. Water is just one of the significant elements that lure people here to visit and sometimes stay.

This collection of works is inspired by the bodies of water that surround us and will include works by Darrell Davis, Colin Page, Shannon Smith Hughes, Betty Anglin Smith, Jennifer Smith Rogers, Susan Mayfield and Tripp Smith.

On Saturday morning, Nov. 2, from 9am until noon there will be 16 artists from the CFADA member galleries, including Shannon Smith Hughes and Susan Mayfield, painting in Washington Park as the Painting in the Park event, part of the Charleston Fine Art Annual, which raises funds for participating Charleston County High School art departments. The works painted in the park will later be auctioned off with proceeds going to school art programs.
