& Susanne Frenzel
The City of North Charleston will present two exhibits including: Dimensional Coloring, featuring works by Donald Swindler, and Energy Unearthed, featuring works by Susanne Frenzel. Both exhibits will be on view in the North Charleston City Gallery, located in the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, SC, from Dec. 1 - 31, 2009.
Donald Swindler will present several abstract expressionist works in his exhibit, titled, Dimensional Coloring. Garnering inspiration from the unconscious mind, the artist uses a variety of techniques in acrylic to explore the ideas of space, color, and energy. Swindler received a BFA in Painting & Drawing from the Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art's Hoffberger School of Painting. Swindler has exhibited his works in numerous venues along the East Coast, as well as in Kansas and Missouri. He currently resides in Aiken, SC.
Susanne Frenzel's exhibit, titled, Energy Unearthed, features abstract pieces in acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media. Each piece combines different techniques and media to form colorful interpretations of impressions made during the artist's travels through Europe. Frenzel is a member of the Charleston Artist Guild, the Mount Pleasant Artists' Guild, and Freunde der Malerei, an artist guild in Landstuhl, Germany. She has exhibited throughout the US, as well as in France & Germany, and her pieces hang in corporate and private collections throughout Germany and the US. She currently resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.
