UNC Asheville in Asheville, NC, Features
Works by Emily O'Brien
UNC Asheville in Asheville, NC, will present the exhibit, Transformation through Displacement, featuring a collection of oil paintings, mixed media works and drawings by UNC-A senior, Emily O'Brien, on view in Blowers Gallery, Dec. 1 - 17, 2010.
The exhibition is based on O'Brien's experiences while studying abroad in France. Using visual imagery as a representation of spoken language, the works express how perceptions can be altered by experiences with the unfamiliar. The show is a culmination of O'Brien's work toward a bachelor's degree at UNC Asheville.
