Charleston Features Works by Karole Turner Campbell & Toney
Nesbitt
The City of North Charleston will present the following exhibits including, Visual Juxtaposition, featuring works by Karole Turner Campbell, and The Jazz Collection, Plus, featuring works by Toney Nesbitt. Both exhibitions will be on view at the North Charleston City Gallery located in the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, SC, from Feb. 2 - 28, 2009.
Karole Turner Campbell, a.k.a. "KTC," is a life-long visual and performing artist and arts educator. Her exhibit presents both realistic and abstract pieces from two series, The Souls of Black Folk and Facets. Each painting and drawing looks to the inner life of its subject and seeks to uncover layers of emotional, spiritual, and physical depth. Campbell, an artist, director, playwright, poet, choreographer, and dancer, has exhibited and performed nationally. She is currently a full-time artist and resides in North Charleston, SC.
Toney Nesbitt, a.k.a. "Nezz", presents an exhibit featuring acrylic paintings and wood carvings depicting outstanding contributions to the Jazz Era, as well as Lowcountry landscapes and wildlife scenes. Nesbitt, a member of the Charleston Artist Guild, has exhibited in several local and state festivals, galleries, and juried exhibitions. He lives in Charleston, SC, with his family.
