Raleigh, NC, Features Works by Tony Griffin
Gallery C in Raleigh, NC, is presenting
the exhibit, The Artist's Life, featuring new oils on canvas
and figure drawings on paper by Tony Griffin, on view through
Feb. 11, 2009.
The exhibition is comprised of Griffin's landscape oils and life drawings from his studio. The landscapes on canvas were painted in the summer of 2008 at his cabin in Avery County, NC. The figure drawings in the show were done from live models in his atelier studio in Charlotte, NC. This show captures Griffin's commitment to painting from life. Motivated by his desire to paint what it is that he loves, Griffin strives to capture a specific time, place, and feeling in each piece, hoping to convey emotion that connects with his audiences.
