Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Rick Horton
Jerald Melberg Gallery
in Charlotte, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Collages,
featuring works by Rick Horton, on view through Feb. 20, 2010.
In this exhibition, the gallery is offering a series of elegant
collages by North Carolina native Rick Horton, which have been
recently released by the Estate of the artist. In his short lifespan
of thirty-five years, Horton (1954-1990) achieved numerous honors
that elude most artists their entire career. He was the recipient
of numerous fellowships including grants from the National Endowment
for the Arts, the Ingram Merrill Foundation and the Pollock-Krasner
Foundation.
During his lifetime, Horton had over sixty gallery and museum
exhibitions and an equal number since his death. His work can
be found in major museum collections including the Museum of Modern
Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Mint Museum and the Nasher
Museum of Art at Duke University.
The gallery is also presenting paintings, pastels and watercolors by New York native Alan Gussow, on view through Feb. 20, 2010.
