The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville, SC, Features Works by Melody Davis

The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville in Greenville, SC, will present an exhibit of works by guest artist, Melody Davis, on view from Feb. 1 - 28, 2014. A reception will be held on Feb., 7, from 6-9pm.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Davis studied art at Carnegie-Mellon University receiving a bachelor’s degree in painting and drawing in 1982. She moved “halfway back” to Salem, SC, in 2009 from the Tampa Bay area to be near the rivers and mountains.

Davis offered the following statement: “Art has been a necessity of life for as long as I can remember. Emotional expression through the human form in any media has always been my passion and I find endless inspiration in those around me. I love the challenges of painting and the immediate energy of digital photography, but it is the clarity of pencil drawing that is the best therapy.”

The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville offers an eclectic mix of works by its members including: Laura Buxo, Gerda Bowman, Pat Cato, Dale Cochran, Robert Decker, Kathy DuBose, Pat Grills, Mel Hammonds, Edith McBee Hardaway, Chris Hartwick, Megan Heuse, Diarmuid Kelly, John Pendarvis, Miranda Sawyer, David Waldrop and Erin Webb.
