Elder Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Stephanie Neely
Elder Gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present Winter Blooms, featuring works by Stephanie Neely, on view from Feb. 7 through Mar. 1, 2014. A reception will be held on Feb. 7, from 6-9pm.
Charlotte artist, Stephanie Neely’s love of horticulture has directed her artistic endeavors and her fascination with the beauty of flowering plants has become the main focus of her paintings.
Neely majored in landscape horticulture at North Carolina State University prior to obtaining a degree at the University of North Carolina School of Law and then a Master of Arts degree from Layola University.
“Stephanie’s trajectory on the national art scene can be attributed to her innate talent as an artist as well as her passion for art,” says Larry Elder of Elder Gallery. “When she decided to dedicate herself to her art she poured all her energies into becoming the best she could possibly be and her efforts have paid off.”
Neely’s journey has included acceptance into numerous national juried competitions to include Salmagundi Club of New York Non-Members Painting Exhibition, International Guild of Realism, Oil Painters of America, Carolina’s Got Art!, Great Lakes Pastel Society National Show, plus others. Some of her awards have been from The Oil Pastel Society, Arkansas Pastel Society National Exhibition, International Artist Magazine, Hilton Head Art League National Exhibition, and Creative Catalyst Productions. Neely was named Best Local Artist 2010 by Creative Loafing in their “Best of Charlotte” edition.
Winter Blooms at Elder Gallery features new works that capture the spiritual nature of flowers as perceived by the artist. Neely’s attention to detail and her ability to infuse color and light into her subjects allows each painting to make an emotional statement. Viewers may find themselves subconsciously smelling the air in an effort to pick up on the perceived fragrance of each painting.
