Seacoast Artists Guild in Myrtle Beach, SC, Features Works by Ron Blanchard
The Seacoast Artists Guild in Myrtle Beach, SC, will present an exhibit of works by award-winning photographer/artist Ron Blanchard, on view in the Seacoast Artists Gallery, from Feb. 1 - 28, 2014.
Blanchard is a member and past President of Seacoast Artists Guild and serves on its Gallery Committee. He is also a member of Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild, Carolina Nature Photographers Association, Photographic Society of America and several area photography groups. You can find his artwork displayed at Seacoast Artist Gallery in the Market Common and at Applewood House of Pancakes.
Blanchard, a native of Connecticut, moved to Murrells Inlet in 2003 with his wife Cindy, a Pastel Portrait Artist. Together they have formed Southern Exposures and Art, LLC, a new business that offers workshops and classes in both the painted arts and photography along with Photo Safari’s by Kayak, Segway and Riverboat.
Blanchard began his photographic career as a crime scene photographer, later owned a wedding photo business and upon coming to South Carolina became a published, award winning wild life and nature photographer. He is a graduate of the Clemson University sponsored SC Master Naturalist program, volunteers with the S.C.U.T.E. sea turtle program and recently as a Raptor Transporter with the Center for Birds of Prey. Blanchard believes that “Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art”.

The Seacoast Artists Gallery exhibits the original artwork of over 70 local artists. Oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, fiber art, photography, engraved silver and clay are just some of the media that can be viewed and purchased at the gallery.
The Seacoast Artists Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit visual arts organization dedicated to promoting and advancing excellence in the visual arts through teaching, exhibits, workshops and special events. It is focused on developing and nurturing young artists-to-be through training programs, sponsorship of art scholarships and student art shows.
