The ARTS Center
in Clemson, SC, Offers Photography Exhibits
The ARTS Center in Clemson,
SC, is presenting three photography exhibits including: Clemson
Photography Project Exhibit, featuring photos taken on a set
day in the Clemson area; The Photographer's 8, featuring
a collection of works from eight professionals and noted artists
from the Clemson community; and a Young Photographer's Exhibit,
featuring photography from area children. The exhibits will be
on view through Mar. 20, 2009.
The Clemson Photography Project Exhibit showcases all of
the images captured on Nov. 14, 2008, the first photo capture
day for the Clemson Photography Project. Community members of
all skill levels were invited to participate in this project by
photographing different themes, focusing on community and family
activities in Clemson. The results are currently on display in
the gallery, along with one selected photo of each photographer
framed and available for $50.
Featured in the Daily Journal, the exhibit was described
as "encompassing every emotion as the vibrant fall colors
ignite awe." The second capture day was Feb. 8, 2009, and
a third date representing Spring will soon be announced for community
members to participate.
The ARTS Center makes it easy to try something new, even if you are a bit shy about your creative talents. Ongoing classes include pottery and jewelry, painting, poetry readings, and summer camps, each available for all ages, budgets, interests and skill level. Outreach programs within the community are open to all local residents and visitors, and annual events such as music festivals and art gallery shows promote the spirit of our community. Artist contributions are highly appreciated and we offer artists opportunities to teach classes, exhibit artwork in the gallery, and have open studio time.
