March Issue 2009
Green Rice Gallery
in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Kendra Baird
Green Rice Gallery in
Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibit, An Unclear Sky,
featuring works by Kendra Baird from Mar. 6 - 29, 2009.
Baird's artwork is based on a solid foundation in drawing and
design incorporated with her own experimentation. Her paintings
begin with a design, "I want them to work as a design element
in the purchaser's home or office. On a deeper level, I want
my paintings to connect with my audience so each individual can
interpret my subject matter in their own personal way."
Acrylics serve as the
material Baird chooses for her inspired work with subjects in
nature, from brightly colored flowers to lifelike creatures. "Each
painting has a personal meaning to me. Sometimes it's obvious;
sometimes it's buried within the art," Baird says, "My
subjects can be as a mischievous frog peeking from behind a wall,
or as complex as a woman losing her identity in the struggles
of life."
