MYST in Spartanburg, SC, Offers Works by Patricia Cole-Ferullo and Carol Beth Icard

MYST, on Morgan Square in downtown Spartanburg, SC, is hosting an inaugural art exhibit titled, Messages & Metaphors, showcasing the work of Patricia Cole-Ferullo and Carol Beth Icard. The exhibit opens on Mar. 19 and continues through Apr. 16, 2009.

Patricia Cole-Ferullo

Cole-Ferullo lives in Tryon, NC, where she maintains her studio and teaches classes in experimental art. She says, "With imagination and intuition as my guides, I playfully manipulate media to create emotionally motivated images reminiscent of the tangible world. My paintings represent a journey guided by an inner vision." Influenced by Matisse and the abstract expressionists Twombly, Frankenthaler and Rothko, Cole-Ferullo "makes visible the forces behind the body of nature by layering color, texture, form and line."

Carol Beth Icard

Landrum, SC, artist, Icard, terms her work "metaphorical and introspective". She has studied art in Italy with Paola Princivalli Conti and in the Berkshires with Mark Milloff and Benigna Chilla. Icard has exhibited in group and solo shows throughout Massachusetts and North and South Carolina, including shows at the Spartanburg County Museum of Art in Spartanburg, SC, the Saul Alexander Gallery in Charleston, SC, and the Upstairs Artspace in Tryon, NC.
