Hodges Taylor
Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Wayne McDowell
The Hodges Taylor Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Wayne McDowell: The Artist's Process, on view through Mar. 30, 2010. The exhibition is a 10 year overview of his work to illustrate how the painting process changes as one refines their subject matter.
A native of Tennessee, McDowell attended the Memphis College of Art in 1985 on a portfolio scholarship. He moved to Wilmington, NC, in 1998 working as a full time painter. He currently exhibits in several galleries along the East Coast and is an active participant in the No Boundaries Art Colony on Bald Head Island off North Carolina.
The exhibition features sixteen works that represent his painting process in three subjects: still life, landscape and the figure. The presentation is a unique example of an artist's practice and progression over a 10 year period in the painter's life.
