Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Karen Keil Brown
The Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, will present Landscapes in Abstraction, featuring works by Karen Keil Brown, on view from Mar. 1 - 30, 2014. A reception will be held on Mar. 7, from 5-8pm.
The exhibition features Brown’s semi-abstract oils. The subtle, rich layering and depth in her work are an invitation into her ethereal atmospheric landscapes.
Originally from New Jersey, Brown was raised in beautiful Asheville. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Asheville, with a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. She was an art teacher for 10 years at a private school before getting back to exhibiting her paintings and photographs throughout the southeast. Brown and her husband, Buster live in North Asheville where they raised their 3 lovely, artistic daughters.
“In my paintings I attempt to create an ethereal atmosphere, inspired by my outdoor surroundings: the changing seasons, the impending storm, from morning to dawn, the misty mountains, the vastness of the sky as it meets the ground! I hope you enjoy the soft visual affect as you get lost in the distant horizon,” says Brown,
