Crooked Creek Art League in Chapin, SC, Offers 19th Annual Juried Exhibition
The Crooked Creek Art League is presenting its 19th Annual Juried Exhibition, on view at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin, SC, through Mar. 31, 2014. A reception and awards presentation will be held on Mar. 17, from 6-8pm.
This exhibit will showcase upwards to 100 pieces of art by local artists, both amateur and professional members of the CCAL. Many different styles of art, as well as media, will be on display. The art work will line the halls of this Irmo-Chapin Recreation Center and is open to the public on a daily basis.
This year’s juror is Diarmuid Kelly. Kelly is a photo realistic oil painter that moved his family from Ireland to the United States in 2008. Currently living in Greenville, SC, he is a self taught artist and has been painting professionally since 1997. Kelly has received National and International recognition for his realistic animal paintings, as well as numerous SC awards for landscapes, still lifes, and portraiture. His work can be seen in many prestigious homes of art collectors in Ireland, England, Wales, Australia and the United States. Kelly has also had several successful solo and group shows in Greenville, Spartanburg and Union Counties since his move to the United States 6 years ago. Plus, Kelly was recently included in the publication Artists Among Us - 100 faces of Artists living and working in the Spartanburg.
The exhibit is open to the public, who are welcome to view the art, meet the artists and vote for the people’s choice award! What a wonderful opportunity to support the local art community!
