The Art League of Hilton Head, on Hilton Head Island, SC, Features Works by Jo Dye, Donna Ireton, & Art Cornell
The Art League of Hilton Head, on Hilton Head Island, SC, will present The Artful Three, featuring mixed media artwork by Jo Dye, pine needle basketry by Donna Ireton, and abstract photography and paintings by Art Cornell, on view in the Walter Greer Gallery, at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, from Mar. 4 - 29, 2014. A reception will be held on Mar. 5, from 5-7pm, sponsored by Harris Teeter.
This collaborative effort presents their exciting new works and epitomizes some of the finest examples of their individual disciplines. Their works of art reside in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
Art Cornell has been a photographer, abstract artist and published poet since leaving the corporate world. His use of color and texture, combined with unique presentations of his work, allow him to constantly explore the boundaries of artistic expression. His work continues to evolve without limitations.
Jo Dye, after many years of realistic artistic expression, has rediscovered abstraction in her collage and mixed-media artwork. Her flair for design, color and technique has blossomed with bright tones, excellent composition and surprising detail. Found and painted papers make up the majority of Dye’s work today, as she renders her collages with the hand of a true artist.
Donna Ireton uses driftwood, palm and other natural materials to create her colorful, free-form, contemporary pine needle basketry art. Swooping, curvaceous designs accentuate and enhance the beautiful grain, texture and coloration found in these natural materials.
An exhibition walk will be offered on Mar. 8, at 11am and Mar. 12, at 11am.
