Visual Artists Gallery Opens in Rutherfordton, NC
The Rutherford County Visual Artists Guild, a non-profit group of more than 50 artists has opened the Rutherford County Visual Arts Center. The new Center is located on Main Street in Rutherfordton, NC, across from KidSenses Children's Museum at 173 North Main Street.
The new Center houses
a Gallery, the Guild Gift Shop and studio space for instruction
and workshops. The art of Guild members including paintings in
all mediums, ceramics, wood carving, sculpture, metal work, jewelry,
fiber art will be available for purchase. The Center will also
be the site for regular art shows with featured artists presentations,
workshops and classes and instruction.
Sandy Fox, President of the Guild says that the Gallery is opening
with the generous donations of time and energies and the efforts
of members and the community. "We have had donations of money,
supplies, paint, fixtures, a computer, services and items including
shelving, a television, coffee maker and refrigerator." Fox
added. "The outpouring of support illustrates how very important
this Center will be to Rutherford County and the region. Resident
and visitors to our area can enjoy the creativity of our talented
artists and the Center will provide an outlet for Guild members
who are not only artists but also entrepreneurs to enhance our
region's economy and the quality of life found here. In addition,
the Center will stimulate both the appreciation of arts and the
value of arts education in the area."
