in Durham, NC, Features Works by Henry Link and Dan Miller
Somerhill Gallery in Durham, NC, is presenting an exhibit of recent works by Henry Link and Dan Miller, on view through May 1, 2009.
Henry Link
Turning to the lands surrounding his North Carolina home for inspiration, Henry Link creates often large-scale oil on canvas paintings rich with the colors and subtleties of nature. From mountaintop vistas to the farmlands of eastern North Carolina, Link's works surpass illustrative realist depiction and convey to the viewer the lively exuberance of the North Carolina landscape.
Link received his MFA and his BA from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He has been a participant in numerous group and one-person exhibits including ones at the North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh, NC; St. John's Museum of Art, Wilmington, NC; the Sawtooth Center for Visual Art, Winston-Salem, NC; the Weatherspoon Gallery, Greensboro, NC; and the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, NC.
Works by Link are in several corporate collections including the American Express Company, BellSouth Corporation, Burlington Industries, First Union National Bank, First Wachovia Corporation, Miller Brewing Company, RJR Nabisco, and Duke University Medical Center.
Dan Miller
Dan Miller received his BFA at Miami University in Oxford, OH. He received an MFA at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, MD. He also studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA and the Vermont Studio School and Colony, Johnson, VT.
Miller has exhibited in some notable group shows include the Columbus Cultural Arts Center, Columbus OH; Central Missouri State University, Warrensberg, MO; Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL; The Plastic Club, Philadelphia, PA; and Evansville Museum of Art and Science, Evansville, IN.
