Woolworth Walk
in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Heather Knight and Dawn Dalto
Woolworth Walk in Asheville, NC, will present the exhibit, Ceramic Artists: Perfectly Paired, featuring works by Heather Knight and Dawn Dalto, on view in the F.W. Front Gallery from Apr. 3 - 29, 2009.
Heather Knight
Heather Knight, ceramic artist, creates both decorative and functional pieces with a focus on organic textures, shadow, and femininity. Her work is reminiscent of the natural world often capturing the look of a sea urchin, flower, or piece of fruit. She has said "I look to nature as inspiration, and filter through a mass of imagery to find the textures that I use to embellish my work." Knight forms pieces such as bowls, spheres, and wall tiles that are clean and white, sometimes with a splash of color.
Dawn Dalto
Dawn Dalto, also a ceramic artist, has always enjoyed working with her hands as well as the attention to detail required in the forming of clay. The majority of her pieces are black and white with shapes and patterns engraved on the surfaces. Her ceramic work is primarily decorative over functional and can be bought as a single piece or as multiple pieces to form a cohesive group of work.
