Redux Contemporary
Art Center in Charleston, SC, Offers Exhibit from Paper Monument
Redux Contemporary Art Center is presenting, We Pictured You Reading This, an exhibition organized by the Brooklyn-based contemporary art journal Paper Monument, on view through May 1, 2010.
Since its inception in 2007, Paper Monument has provided an independent perspective on art and culture, showcasing new writing and presenting original, commissioned works by emerging artists. This exhibition brings together artwork by contributors to Paper Monument as well as projects featured in its pages.
Artists in the exhibition include Munro Galloway, Dan Torop, Jon Pylypchuk, Amanda Trager, Dushko Petrovich, Alex Klein, Jessica Slaven, Corinna Schnitt, Roger White, Jessie LeBaron, James Howard, and David Kearns. The catalog for the exhibition will take the form of a fold-out poster.
Redux Contemporary Art Center -Founded in 2002, is a 501-c(3) non-profit arts organization dedicated to education, and the production and presentation of contemporary visual art. Housed within a 6,000 square foot warehouse are two galleries, fifteen private artist studios, print shop, darkroom, woodshop, classroom and film-screening area. Redux is committed to showing artwork by national and international artists, supporting local artists and enriching the Charleston community by offering adult and youth education programs. As the only arts organization in Charleston providing these much needed opportunities, Redux maintains an ambitious schedule of exhibition, outreach and studio programs to accomplish our goals.
