City Art Gallery in Columbia, SC, Offers Works by USC Photographers
City Art Gallery in Columbia, SC, will present THE f8 OF THE WORLD, an exhibition of photography by students in The Studio Art Photography Program at the University of South Carolina, on view from Apr. 1 - 10, 2013. A reception will be held on Apr. 4, from 5-8pm.
The exhibition features photographs from students of the University’s advanced exhibition course in the Photography Program.
The works presented will range from an exploration of the human experience and the preservation of natural beauty to the commemoration of iconic local architecture. The student artists have challenged themselves to present the work as something that will leave a lasting impact on the photographic community. The works each take part in a dialog regarding the value placed on aspects of the world we live in today. Whether it is exploring the decay of our society or investigating the intimate, every day interactions, this show intends to cause contemplation within the viewer, possibly producing new outlooks on society or oneself.
