F.W. Front Gallery
in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Deona Fish
The F.W. Front Gallery at Woolworth Walk in Asheville, NC, will present the exhibit, Deona's Sleepy Little Dreams: for Michelle, featuring a show dedicated in memoriam to Michelle Sullivan by Deona Fish, on view from May 1 - 29, 2009.
Fish paints on canvas, scrap wood, and other found materials using acrylics and often adding wood putty and wax to build up the surfaces. She chooses subjects such as whimsical flowers, houses, animals, and people creating a child- like, uplifting world within the paintings. Her style is heavily influenced by many years of painting with and teaching art to children. The characters in Fish's pieces are "expressions of the innocence inherent in all beings, the common thread we share with all life."
