MYST Gallery
in Spartanburg, SC, Features Works by Bonnie Goldberg
MYST, sister gallery to Carolina Gallery, in Spartanburg, SC, is hosting an exhibition of new work by Bonnie Goldberg, on view from May 20 through June 30, 2010.
Goldberg, of Columbia, SC, draws and paints the figure as it moves in space. She says, "The gesture is important to me. Capturing the spirit of the movement in the smallest lines helps me to capture the beauty of women, both interior and exterior. The spirit of women is what is important to me in my work. When posing the women that I love to paint, I try to find each personal gesture that belongs to that particular woman and then translate that into the essence of who she is in that moment of time."
Goldberg is a member of the "About Face" figure painting group at the Columbia Museum of Art, where she draws and paints from life on a regular basis. Her work has been included in juried exhibits at the McKissick Museum at the University of South Carolina, Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston, SC, and the International Society of Experimental Artists. Goldberg's works are in private collections in the US, Canada and France.
