Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island, SC, Offers Works by Local Painting Group
The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island, SC, is presenting Coastal Discoveries, featuring works by members of the Apple Pie Painters, on view in the Hilton Head Regional Health Care Temporary Exhibit Gallery, through May 27, 2013.
This group of ten local artists works ‘plein air’ around the lowcountry. They have been doing this for fifteen years. This exhibition will feature artists working in abstract; some are large, others prefer small formats. They meet bi weekly, mostly on Hilton Head, occasionally venturing out to paint further afield. A small exhibit features the many styles that comprise their offerings, all painted from a single marsh on Honey Horn.
A demonstration will be offered on May 11, at 10:30am, by Mary Kelly on acrylics in Abstraction in Landscape. Kelly is an instructor at the Art Academy on Hilton Head.
