Week in Brevard, NC, June 26 - July 4, 2009
Brevard, NC, has announced that June 26 - July 4, 2009, will be Arts & Culture Week in their community. Tammy Hopkins executive director of the Transylvania Community Arts Council said, "This is a week dedicated to all of the arts in our community. With more than 40 art events in one week we hope members of the community and visitors alike will get out and try something new." Events include concerts at Brevard Music Center, Gallery Walks, an open-mic nite for writers, music jams, square dancing, photography exhibits, art shows and sales, street dances, pottery classes, and Arts & Culture Week ends with a bang at the 4th of July Celebration downtown on Main Street with TC Arts' 37th annual Fine Arts & Crafts Showcase as part of the downtown festivities. Don't miss the fireworks at Brevard College that night.
Kicking-off Arts & Culture Week is the opening of the Brevard Music Center and the Brevard 4th Friday Gallery Walk on June 26, 2009. The opening concert for the Brevard Music Center is Light Classics & Pops: From Opera to Broadway at 7:30pm. The Brevard Music Center will offer concerts throughout the week. Also on June 26, 2009, enjoy the Brevard 4th Friday Gallery Walk from 5-9pm as all the art galleries and art spots in downtown stay open late. Galleries participating include: Bluewood Gallery, Drew Deane Gallery, Gallery on Main, Hollingsworth Gallery, Number 7 Fine Arts & Craft Gallery, Red Wolf Gallery, and Transylvania Community Arts Center.
