RedSky Gallery
in Charlotte, NC, Offers Works by Betsy Klein, Eleanor Wirth,
& Dina Lowery
RedSky Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is presenting the exhibit, All that Glitters: Betsy Klein, Eleanor Wirth, and Dina Lowery, on view through July 8, 2009.
Two jewelry artists
and a mixed media painter prove that all that glitters is not
gold. Betsy Klein, Eleanor Wirth, and Dina Lowery come together
for a new exhibition, each demonstrating in their own medium the
interplay of translucency and opaqueness. Brilliance is definitely
redefined!
Betsy Klein uses the highest quality gemstones such as Sapphire,
Peridot, Tanzanite, Ruby and Citrine to create her unique jewelry.
The gems are her inspiration and are not lost in the design, but
part of a perfect symphony of color and light. By incorporating
Swarovski crystal, fresh water pearls and 14K gold and Sterling
silver elements, Klein produces beautiful and exciting works of
art.
Dina Lowery's V. paintings are interpretations of either aesthetic experiences or emotional incidences. She selects mediums that best express her experience or emotion. She uses gold or silver leaf or gloss varnish to achieve a reflective quality and impart a depth and translucence that express her emotions.
Eleanor Wirth weaves elaborate tapestries of glass, creating translucent forms to adorn the body. Her work reflects her textile background as glass beads become exaggerated threads in a dance of texture and light.
