Craven Arts Council in New Bern, NC, Presents Annual Juried Exhibit
The Craven Arts Council and the Twin Rivers Artists’ Association are presenting the 10th Annual Juried Art Show, on view at the Bank of the Arts in New Bern, NC, through June 25, 2011.
Michael Dorsey, a professor at East Carolina University, was this year’s juror. Dorsey selected 65 works from the 216 entries offered by 101 regional artists. Awards totaling $5,000 were made by the juror after works were selected for display.
Visitors can expect to see paintings, pastels, drawings, pottery, photography, works in fiber, fine art prints, weaving, basketry, graphics, wood, glass, and sculpture.
The historic city of New Bern, the first capital of North Carolina, has become a prime destination for retirees and tourists. New Bern’s rich history and beautiful geographic setting have combined to create a cultural environment that has attracted an active art community supported by an enthusiastic group of collectors and donors.
