July Issue 2009
Artists Guild
Gallery of Greenville in Greenville, SC, Features Works by Jeffery
Byrd
The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville in Greenville, SC, will present an exhibit of works by guest artist, Jeffrey Byrd, on view from July 1 - 31, 2009.
Early on, Byrd chose to hone his natural artistic ability through education; he attended The Governor's School of the Arts in Greenville, and The Fine Arts Center of Greenville. He continued his education and earned an associates degree in Advertising Design from The Greenville Museum School of Art; he went on to study graphic design and illustration while attending The Atlanta College of Georgia.
After graduation, Byrd audited classes at The Parson School of Design in New York. He created "The Love Design Entrepreneurship" in Atlanta, GA. as well as "Just-in Productions," in Mount Vernon, NY. Byrd's artwork led him to various cities and states before his heart brought him back to Greenville. Once again in Greenville, he became a start-up member of "The Silhouettes Collective," and ran "Studio 6," in the West End.
Byrd's need to create began when he was ten years old. His life-long love of cars led him to specialize in automobile portraits; his amazing artistic abilities don't end there. With pencil or charcoal he has the uncanny ability, regardless of his subject - people, animals, or inanimate objects - to evoke incredible emotion.
Byrd has been dubbed by friends and family as "The World's Greatest Closet Artist." He earned his nickname by being so very humble about his unbelievable talent; the Artist's Guild Gallery of Greenville (AGGG) plans to change all that!
