July Issue 2009
Art Central
Gallery in Summerville, SC, Features Works by Renee Bruce
Art Central, Ltd. Gallery in Summerville, SC, is presenting the exhibit, Journeys, featuring works in watercolor by Renee Bruce, on view through July 31, 2009.
Bruce came across a
painting that she'd forgotten about. It was a path into the
woods, with lots of trees, color and sunshine. It reminded
her of her inner life at that time - a journey to somewhere unknown.
Trees are among her favorite subject matter, so she started painting
paths that would take her into their presence. As the next
painting developed, the season had shifted; that led her to paint
the other two seasons as well. The paintings in this exhibit
are about life - going home, stepping into the unknown, noticing
your surroundings - and the realization that the Journey is the
point.
Art Central also represents Helen K. Beacham, Bette Lu Bentley-Layne,
Mary Ann Bridgman, Christine Crosby, Victoria Platt Ellis, Judy
Jacobs, Alexandra Kassing, Sarah Allums Kuhnell, Yvonne L. Rousseau,
June Sullivan, Kathleen Wiley and Detta C. Zimmerman. It also
features consignment artists Silver Pail Pottery and Gary Nunn,
woodworking.
Art Central will also be participating in the Art Walk scheduled for July 16, 2009, from 5-8pm on Short Central Avenue between Richardson Ave. and W. 2nd South St. in Summerville.
