The Gallery
at DuPre in Columbia, SC, Features Works by Lee Monts
The Gallery at DuPre in the historic DuPre building in Columbia, SC, will present the exhibit, Testimony, featuring the paintings and assemblages of Lee A. Monts, from July 23 through Aug. 21, 2009.
Testimony is the premier solo show by
the artist. Monts, who has had no formal training in art,
has shown in the Columbia area for six years with representation
by Cameo Art Gallery, the Bus Stop Gallery, Verve Fine Interiors
and the Gallery at DuPre.
Monts is mostly known for his acrylic paintings on canvas - predominantly
abstracted landscapes with a signature style of texture. In
addition to both small and large-scale paintings, the exhibit
will include simple encaustic works and curious assemblages created
of found objects. This show by Monts is intended to be a
testimony to God-given creativity.
