Upstairs Artspace
in Tryon, NC, Offers Studio Tour & Exhibition
The Upstairs Artspace in Tryon, NC launches an annual event, "Art Trek Tryon: Foothills Open Studios," on July 25, 2009, from 10am-6pm and July 26, 2009, from noon to 6pm. Approximately 40 artists living and working in North Carolina's Polk County plus Landrum, SC, are opening their studios to the public free of charge.
The art encompasses most forms and styles, including painting, woodturning, ceramics, fabric art, metalsmithing, indoor and outdoor sculpture. Studios range from one room in the artist's house to separate buildings devoted to studio and a gallery. Many studios enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains. Besides Landrum, the towns involved are Tryon, Saluda, Columbus, Mill Spring and Green Creek.
An exhibit of work by each participating artist opens at the Upstairs Artspace on July 24, 2009. The exhibit will continue through Sept. 5, 2009.
Tours are self-guided.

Artspace, 49 S. Trade Street (next to the movie theater) as well
as at every artist's studio and businesses in each town. Brochures
will be mailed on request.
