July Issue 2010
Green Rice Gallery
in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Jay Thompson
Green Rice Gallery in
Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibit, Aotearoa: Land
of the Long White Cloud, featuring works by Jay Thompson,
on view from July 2 through Aug. 1, 2010.
Thompson is freshly returned from a 7 month adventure in New Zealand,
arguably one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Geothermal
hotsprings and volcanoes, gorgeous beaches, rugged stunning coastline,
snowcapped mountains, glaciers, glowworms, rainforests, culture...
skiing, surfing, kayaking, skydiving, whitewater rafting, caving,
the origin of bungy jumping... it's the mecca of outdoor adventure
and adrenaline. What better inspiration for an artist. Thompson
would like to share his worldly experiences and inspire others
to live like the kiwis...genuine, real and alive! True to
the inspiration, he uses acrylic paints to capture his adventures
on canvas.
