Arboretum in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Marjorie Renfroe
The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Art in Bloom, featuring a new exhibit by painter Marjorie Renfroe, on view in the Education Center's Second Floor Gallery through July 25, 2010.
This exhibit features works by Renfroe, who maintains studios in North Carolina and Florida where she paints flowers that her husband painstakingly plants for her. She also writes poetry about nature that conveys her love of woods, trees, seas, and flowers.
Art in Bloom is a perfect compliment to the Arboretum's 65 acres of cultivated gardens and other summer art exhibits, including: Balance & Beauty: A Visual Celebration of Rural Life, an exhibit by artist Margaret Scanlan at the Baker Exhibit Center through Aug. 22, 2010; Living Color, a unique exhibit exploring color in nature at the Baker Exhibit Center Greenhouse through Aug. 22, 2010; and Inflorescence, a kinetic outdoor sculpture exhibit by Jason S. Brown and Elizabeth Scofield throughout the Arboretum's grounds, on view through Feb. 2011.
