July Issue 2010
The Real Estate
Studio in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Don Localio
The Real Estate Studio in Charleston, SC, will present the exhibit, Cirque: Collective Works of Don Localio, featuring works by abstract expressionist Don Localio, on view from July 1 through Aug. 12, 2010.
The recent works in
this collection evolved over the last few years while the artist
has been living in Charleston, SC.
Localio has exhibited widely, and his works have been included
in shows alongside works by Robert Motherwell, Stanley Boxer,
Kenneth Noland, and Ellsworth Kelly. His work, though highly personal,
has been undeniably influenced by the abstract expressionists
Arshile Gorky, Mark Rothko, and most notably Willem de Kooning,
who singled out the artist in his early career and became a friend
and mentor.
