Woolworth Walk in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Angela Alexander
Woolworth Walk in Asheville, NC, will present the exhibit, Gotta Wear Shades, featuring paintings by Angela Alexander, on view in the F.W. Front Gallery, from July 1 - 30, 2011. A reception will be held on July 1, from 5-7pm.
Alexander specializes in painting vibrant cartoon-like images of animals with clever and fitting titles given to each piece. Her goal is to generate an emotional response from the viewer, a smile or an audible laugh as she likes to think of herself as a canvas comedian. She has said the reason she feels a strong pull towards painting pets is “because they represent the purest forms of unconditional love.”
Alexander actively works with local animal rescue groups to raise awareness and provide financial support for these wonderful organizations that strive to give all animals a deserving, loving home.
Alexander will be donating 10% of all sales from her show to the organization Brother Wolf.
