Arts Council
of Henderson County, in Hendersonville, NC, Offers Annual Juried
Exhibition
The Arts Council of Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, will present the exhibit, Bring Us Your Best 6, at the Arts Council's Neill Gallery, from Aug. 7 - Sept. 26, 2009.
Celebrating its sixth year, Bring Us Your Best is a juried and judged show that is popular with professional artists, hobbyists and student artists from around our region, as well as with art lovers from Henderson County and surrounding areas. The show is open to original works of art in any media.
The Ira Wax and Lynne Wax Memorial Funds are the major sponsors of Bring Us Your Best 6. According to Rita Wax, "my husband, Ira, and daughter, Lynne, had a great appreciation for all art forms including crafts, so the decision to honor their memory by sponsoring Bring Us Your Best was easy because the show is so inclusive." Another aspect of the exhibit that Wax believes reflects her husband's and daughter's philosophies is that "all artists are encouraged to participate - established professionals as well as new and emerging artists who create for pleasure as much as they do for sales." Additional sponsors include Times-News and Joseph Laughter Clothier.
The Arts Council of Henderson County is a community organization that advocates for the arts and provides opportunities to enrich the lives of children and adults through the arts by offering exhibits, art education and performances. The Arts Council is handicapped accessible. The Arts Council is supported in part by the North Carolina Arts Council, the State of North Carolina, several funds administered by the Community Foundation of Henderson County, Henderson County, and the Henderson County Travel and Tourism Bureau.
