Art and Light
Gallery in Greenville, SC, Features Works by Jared & Heather
Stanley, Noni and Colleen Parker
Art and Light Gallery, located in Greenville, SC's Pendleton Art District will feature an exhibit of works by Jared & Heather Stanley and Noni & Colleen Parker, on view from Aug. 7 - 29, 2009.
Noni Parker
Noni, a Greenville area native and artist since age 6 will unveil A Dancer's Collection, The Resistance of Gravity. Noni's love of the human figure and dance inspires her - she once told me "I can't dance, so I paint dancers - the most graceful of human figures."
"Dancing is the graceful fight against the resistance of gravity. My paintings must overcome the resistance to create. My hope is that you will experience each dancer as a beautiful moment in time," says Noni.
Also, husband and wife team Jared and Heather Stanley will unveil an all new collection of work. In this work, two artists become one. The individual styles of both Jared and Heather are very apparent - they retain their individual styles, however the subtle resemblances in their work have grown stronger over time. They have worked in tandem on the pieces of work in this exhibit. Each of them began pieces in their own medium of choice and brought it to a point of near completion. At that point they relinquished the art to be completed by the other, thus the body of work titled Completion.
Artist Colleen Parker, a native Texan and Greenville dermatologist is a new painter and is working furiously to find her style. She loves to capture the world that is immediately around her. All of the paintings in this show are either inspired by her travels or from her home in South Carolina.
