Flood Gallery
Fine Art Center in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Merlin Strivelli
The Flood Gallery Fine Art Center in Asheville, NC, will present an exhibit of works by Merlin Strivelli, on view in the Pump Gallery from Aug. 7 through Sept. 7, 2009.
Strivelli was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at four years old. He learned to communicate early by drawing pictures. His early themes were cartoons, children's shows, and superheroes. In Nov. 2007, Strivelli traveled to Washington, DC, to accept an "Award of Excellence" in VSA Art's Driven exhibit at The Smithsonian Institution's S. Dillon Ripley Center. He was one of 15 national finalists in the competition.
The Flood Gallery Fine Art Center is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting the arts in Asheville through the exhibition of established and emerging artists from all over the world. Through artist-residency programs, public events and workshops, and educational activities, Flood Gallery seeks to make art a vital and important part of life in Asheville.
