WICKWIRE Gallery
in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Mary Brummett
WICKWIRE fine art/folk art ". . .where the heart finds art" will present the exhibit, Color Notes, featuring new oil paintings by Mary Brummett, from Aug. 7 - 31, 2009, in Hendersonville, NC,
Brummett, a resident of Saluda, NC, is a graduate of Syracuse University, where she majored in Interior Design. She paints in oils and acrylics, and her work is in private collections in the US and internationally.
"It was the extraordinary experience of painting in Monet's garden that forever changed the way I perceive light, color and form. In my paintings, I try to create a joyful, evocative mood I can share with the viewer, and I am most interested in capturing a sense of light and atmosphere. My paintings are often not a literal rendering of a scene, but instead I try to capture my emotional, immediate reactions to what is before me. The scene frequently becomes a place to which I have traveled in my mind."
WICKWIRE in its eleventh year features distinctive art choices for home and office décor. Original, new works of traditional, transitional art and contemporary folk art of the highest quality - original paintings, American handmade craft, handcrafted furniture, photography, jewelry & more.
