South Carolina at Aiken in Aiken, SC, Features Works by Linda
Prior Hunley
The University of South Carolina at Aiken in Aiken, SC, will present an exhibit of large graphite drawings by Linda Prior Hunley, on view in the Etherredge Center Galleries from Aug. 16 through Sept. 24, 2010.
The exhibition will include life size studies of Jurassic fossils from the American Museum of Natural History - long leaf pine roots from Hitchcock Woods, and shell fragments from the Carolina coasts.
Hunley was born in 1951 in Charleston, SC, and raised in Aiken. She holds a BFA in Visual Art from Stephens College in Columbia, MO, and an MS in Visual Communication from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She also attended figure drawing classes at the New York Art Students League and the National Academy of Art.
While living in New York City, Hunley worked as an artist and exhibition designer for the American Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Contemporary Crafts, and New York Hall of Science.
