Lark & Key
Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features New Works by Angie Renfro and
Amy Sanders
Lark & Key Gallery and Boutique in Charlotte, NC, will present an exhibit of new works by Angie Renfro and featured potter Amy Sanders, on view from Sept. 2 - 27, 2009.
Angie Renfro
Angie Renfro's oil paintings
capture the simple beauty of everyday objects and landscapes. A
native Texan, her inspiration is derived primarily from long road
trips across the state. From rusting silos to empty fields,
the aesthetic of the stark Texas landscape is translated into
her work, capturing images that are at once lonely and captivating.
Renfro's intention is that by drawing attention to such objects,
the viewer too, will appreciate their quiet unassuming beauty.
Currently living in California, but holding on to her Texan roots,
Renfro is becoming increasingly successful and her paintings are
sought after throughout the United States.
Amy Sanders
Charlotte based potter Amy Sanders is inspired by textiles, quilting and most recently the role of new mother. She finds herself conflicted with the joyful energy of raising a family and the desire for solitude and creative studio time. Her current work explores this new identity, invites touch and evokes a sense of comfort.
Sanders' work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States, in several publications and at American Craft Council Shows.
An intersect of art, design and craft, Lark & Key showcases the work of independent artists and designers including Duy Huynh, Charlotte Foust, Hadley Hutton, Julie Wiggins, Ronan Peterson, Jen Swearington, Dolan Geiman, Lindsay Rogers, and more.
