Art League of
Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Carol
MacAllister
The Art League of Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, will present an exhibit of works by folk artist, Carol MacAllister, on view in the Grace Etheredge Room at Opportunity House, from Sept. 12 through Oct. 7, 2010.
MacAllister is a self taught artist in the tradition of New England Folk Artists. "I enjoy most the act of creating memories. For me, each painting is a story. I love it when someone discovers some little detail in a painting and spontaneously smiles with personal recognition." After having spent a good deal of her life as a social worker dealing with the troubled side of the human experience she now spends her time creating joyous paintings that lift the spirit and imagination. MacAllister's folk art is currently displayed in the Mountain Forest Studio, Brevard, NC.
